Hockey Mom

I am hockey mom....Skating 3 times a week plus hockey practice once a week. We just started hockey last weekend. Spent the last 2 weeks looking for hockey gear in the smallest size possible!!....2 knee pads, 2 chest pads and 20 stores later, we got everything we need. Xavier and Ella are loving the ice time...and so am i =)

sweet taste of summer as a 4 year old

last week was my little man's 4th birthday. went down to the t dot island and played at centreville for the day. took the rest of the week off to do nothing but enjoy the good weather and play with my little ones.

of course, nothing is better on a hot summers' day than having something cold and sweet at the end of a good 'fun day'. I can always tell how much fun they've had by how dirty they look at the end of the day =).

xavier is 4. He is a driver, shark boy, a camper and last but not least a baller. He LOVES basketball. so much that he just received his 4th basketball net from mommy and daddy. except this one is the last one on the list...he can't graduate to anything bigger. we have the table top version, the baby version, the toddler version and now the adult size (..of course, set up to 6 feet). We thought it was a phase..he's been playing since he was 9 months...i guess if it lasts for more than 3 and a half years, it can't be called a phase any longer. he always wants to play...rain or shine....so today, we will play till we just can't play anymore.

I must say...it is tiring being a kid!! Hope you had fun today...

stop and smell the flowers....

for the last few months since i've been back to work from mat. leave i have been running around like 'a chicken with it's head cut off' (sound familiar anyone?!?!?). from going to soccer practice to swimming lessons to just trying to put a decent meal on the table after work to everything in between --- It seems sometimes i'm running out of steam.

i love these 2 pics. they were taken at Niagra Falls a few weeks ago....they remind me so much of all the little things we 'big people' forget about....little things that put a smile on my kids faces.

i guess i shouldn't worry about trying to do so much in so little time...maybe we should all just take some time to STOP.... and smell the flowers...
